An amazing 6 Day birdwatching tour visiting the heart of rural Spain. See a vast array of raptors and iconic birds of the steppe and cork oak dehesa in this wonderfully unspoilt area.
Extremadura Spring Tour for Black Vulture, Eurasian Griffon, Spanish Imperial Eagles, Lesser Kestrel, Black-shouldered Kite, Great and Little Bustards, Montagu's Harriers, Black Stork, Black-bellied and Pin-tailed Sandgrouse and Azure-winged Magpie. Good chance of Orphean and Bonelli's Warbler, Bluethroat & much more!
Extremadura is a beautiful, unspoilt area with vast plains, cork oak forests water bodies and mountain ranges.
The itinerary provides a wonderful array and diversity of birds, especially some of the much sought after Spanish specialities alongside a wonderful mix of Mediterranean birds and some wetland species.
The tour will take in all of those diverse habitats and birds, with well over 130 species being recorded.

14th April arrive Madrid - transfer south-west to Trujillo in Extremadura
15th Caceres-Trujillo steppes for bustards, larks, sandgrouse and a host of raptors and dehesa birds
16th Embalse de Alcollarin for wetland birds and surrounding forested hills for Black-winged Kite, Bonelli's Eagle and more
17th Birding the vast rolling plains of La Serena and the adjoining riecfields and small reservoirs
18th Birding Monfrague NP, for a range of raptors and breeding warblers
19th Birding dehesa, South of Monfrague MP
20th Depart back to Madrid for flight back to the UK
