1st June 2020 – Bintree Mill, Wensum Valley
Highlights – Marsh Harrier, Barn owl, Cetti’s Warbler, Garden Warbler, 2 Grey Wagtail feeding young, Kingfisher, Green Woodpecker and a female Goosander an unseasonal record.
3rd June 2020 – Bintree Mill, Wensum Valley
Highlights were a Spotted Flycatcher and an adult Mediterranean Gull feeding with Black-headed Gulls all hawking mayflies along the river. A day hunting Tawny Owl was flushed at close range & a Great Spotted Woodpecker nest held young being regularly fed by the adults. Reed, Garden, Willow warbler all singing well, as was Whitethroat, Chiff-chaff and Blackcap.
5th June 2020 – Cley – Salthouse
Migrant waders included a Red Knot, a Curlew & Dunlin. Offhsore there were numerous Little Terns heading back to their colony on Blakeney Point. Also 4 Spoonbill roosting towards Salthouse, also 4+ Marsh harriers.
7th June 2020 – Bintree Mill
Quiet birdwise on a dull, damp morning save a brief singing Grasshopper Warbler. But a few nice insects…..!
