Days guided birding around Cley – 26th September
A nice day around Cley guiding Clare and Peter two regulars, they finally got to see Long-billed Dowitcher. Lovely close views of Red-throated diver, Guillemots, Razorbills and Gannets just offshore making the most of good fishing conditions. On the shore there was a very smart 1st winter Caspian Gull. An adult pale phase Arctic skua also passed offshore, along with a few Common Scoter.
Plus plenty of waders and wildfowl, several hundred Pink-feet in skeins across the skies! Waders from the hides included 35 Ruff, 100+ Black-tailed Godwit, Green Sandpiper, Curlew Sandpiper, Little Stint, Grey Plover and a stunning flock of freshly arrived Golden Plover.
