About Norfolk Birding
From 1st April 2025, Norfolk Birding is now owned and managed by Norfolk-based tour company, Oriole Birding Ltd. We have over 20 years experience of operating high quality birding holidays around the world, as well as a range of tours throughout the year around our home county of Norfolk. We have been working with Chris Mills, previous owner of Norfolk Birding, on a number of tours over the last few years, and are pleased that he will continue to bring his wealth of experience and enthusiasm to our guiding team going forward. When you join a Norfolk Birding tour, the booking and pre-tour process will be handled by Oriole so you will enjoy the benefits of a fully regulated tour company including card payment facility, financial protection and a pre-tour service such as info packs and checklists. We are still a family-run company with a small-group ethos so you can expect a high level of personal service and attention to detail too. What do we offer?
Birdwatching and Wildlife Tours in Norfolk, Scotland, Spain and India.
Norfolk tours are based from our local area in mid Norfolk and are suitable for all levels of experience. Most tours are 3 days and 3 nights, a few are 4 or 5 days long. If we have availability you may be able to join us for a single day.
In between group tours, we run exclusive tours as well, so if you are a family or a group of friends and are interested in a day or arranging tour then just contact us with your requirements. If you are an individual wishing to see or photograph a certain species or group of birds please contact us for details.
We run two spacious 9 -seater minibuses, so we cater for groups of up to 8 persons, although usually, our maximum group size is 7 persons.

Chris Mills
Chris Mills started Norfolk Birding in 2009, running the business until 2025 before passing the reins on to Norfolk-based tour company Oriole Birding. Chris has been birding & photographing wildlife for 30 years and for the last 16 years in Norfolk. Birding has taken him to many wonderful places around the world, visiting Finland, Norway, France, Spain, Canary Islands, Turkey, Corsica, Israel (12 times!), Oman, UAE, Gambia, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Goa, India, Nepal, Thailand, California, Texas, New Jersey & Peru.
Chris is a natural guide with great experience, knowledge & enthusiasm. He will continue to lead tours for both the Norfolk Birding and Oriole Birding brands going forward, including India, Scotland and Spain.
Our Groups
We concentrate on small groups, no more than 8 clients usually just 7 plus the guide. We want everyone to have an enjoyable personal experience. Our groups are varied and mixed. We provide an educational backdrop whilst watching our subjects not just identification but migration, feeding and behavioural aspects as well. Beginners through to experienced birders benefit from our tours and local knowledge.
