6th November – Norfolk Exclusive day
An exclusive day for David & Sandra – in North Norfolk. We started off looking at the sea off Cley. A nice selection with Wigeon, Common Scoters, Red-throated Divers, Gannets, Guillemots & Dark-bellied Brents all passing in reasonable numbers.
Further East the sea poll still held the Long-tailed Duck which was holding close company with a pair of Wigeon, also Rock pipit, Meadow Pipit, Linnet, Goldfinch and a nice pair of Stonechat along the fenceline. Out over the marsh, 3 Marsh harriers were dancing and causing the Wigeon, Shoveler and Teal up into the air.
A walk down the East bank, eventually yielded us great views of Bearded Tit. Out on Arnolds Marsh there was a nice selection of waders, Dunlin, Knot, Grey Plover, Ringed Plover, Turnstone, Curlew, Redshank, Greenshank and a nice surprise a Purple Sandpiper.
We rounded the day off at Stiffkey and enjoyed a nice adult male Hen Harrier, several Marsh harriers, Peregrine and 2 Merlins sat side by side!
Clients comments ” A quick “thank you” for yesterdays ‘ excellent and thoroughly enjoyable exclusive tour. So, so pleased to have seen a bearded tit, 3 harriers in one scope view, 2 merlins and purple sandpiper. Purple sandpiper and bearded tit firsts for us both.“
