20th October – One day exclusive
An exclusive day started well with good views of the Yellow-browed Warbler at Walsey, also Chiff-chaff and at least 2 late Willow Warblers here a juvenile and a pale adult. Thanks to David Bratt and the NOA for inviting my clients to see both a Chiff-chaff and a Willow Warbler being ringed, the latter weighing in at an astonishing 13 grammes, fat and ready to migrate!
Seawatching at Cley was rather auk and Gannet dominated, though both were stunningly close and fantastic in the lovely light. Also –12 Kittiwake, and a few Little Gulls.
Holkham area produced no less then 4 Great White Egrets, plus Red Kite, Marsh harriers and Buzzard. Stiffkey fen held a really great roost of 13 Greenshank & 2 Ruff plus a plethora of wildfowl. Nearby several Rock Pipits.
Wells North Point, gave us 2 Greenshank, 11 Ruff, 30 Black-tailed Godwit & fantastic light on the Wigeon and Teal, also 2 Marsh harriers.
